Tuition Fees

You are expected to pay from US$2,000 to US$10,000 per year for undergraduate studies in a public university in China, depending on the university and major. For private universities can cost up to US$ 30,000 USD per year, while for MBA degrees even up to US$ 40,000 per academic year. The Chinese government makes a big effort to attract international students to Chinese universities, by offering various Chinese scholarship opportunities. In addition, a lot of Chinese universities offer partially or fully funded scholarships which cover the student’s tuition fees and accommodation. Housing & Living Cost

Housing – A popular option as an international student is to choose to stay in student dormitories offered by the university, where the cost ranges among US$150–US$400 per month. Renting a flat in the city you are studying alone or with a roommate is also an option, but you are expected to pay more, from US$300-US$1000 per month. The location of the apartment and the city plays a big role in your expenses.

Another great option to reduce your cost by living with a Chinese family during your studies. This will cost you from US$300-US$550 per month.

Living Cost – The cost of living in China differs depending on the region you are living in and the cost of food, monthly rent, utilities and transportation is slightly higher in the bigger cities. In metropolitan big cities, your monthly costs could be around US$850, while in smaller cities can be up to US$550. Chinese public transport offer student discounts and it will only cost you around US$20 per month.

Depending on your study major, study materials per semester will cost around US$50 and you should find medical insurance program that meets your budget criteria and needs.

Note:

        • As an international student arriving in China for studies is required to obtain private medical insurance therefor, start the procedures for your medical insurance once your student visa is in order.
        • As an international student, it is required that you should apply for a residence permit within 30 days from the time of arrival in China. Residence permit will enable you to study in China without any obstacles. The application for the residence permit should be submitted at the division of exit-entry administration of the local public security bureau.
